Long-term Family Success
I coach my clients on sustainable weekly meal planning, whole-family nutrition, and the importance of adult “bubble time”. These three pillars are a foundation for long-term family success.
Consistent targeted nutrition can beat back postpartum depletion (the toll pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding takes on a mother’s body), provide ample rewards to a breastfeeding baby (cognitive development, GI support, better sleep, etc), and support long-term energy needs for both parents.
Bubble time is the idea that each new parent deserves one daily activity for themselves—time that supports their mental health and identity beyond caregiving.
This might look like a nap, a mom’s group meeting, a solo walk or workout, a therapy session, or a meaningful connection with a friend. It isn’t a retreat from the baby so much as a return to the parent as a whole person.
Making bubble time a daily reality for each parent requires intention, advance planning, and true teamwork within the family system.
