What Is A Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is someone who mothers the mother after she brings her baby home. My role is to support a new mother’s rest, nourishment, healing, and emotional wellbeing during the early weeks after birth. I serve as her advocate and steady presence—protecting her space to recover, bond, and adjust—because when a mother feels supported and cared for, the entire family benefits.
My core beliefs as a postpartum doula are simple and deeply held:
When a new mother feels well supported and is truly thriving, her entire family benefits.
While we can’t choose the challenges that may arise during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum, we can choose our support team—and that choice can profoundly shape outcomes.
Thoughtful, supportive postpartum care can help prevent or lessen postpartum mood disorders.
Every new mother deserves someone firmly in her corner—a hype woman for the fourth trimester.
